AIAC CHAIRMAN JOINS THE EXPLORERS CLUB IN RINGING THE NYSE OPENING BELL
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New York, New York December 13, 2023 – L.M. Levie, Chairman of American Industrial Acquisition Corporation (AIAC) and Member of the Board of Trustees of the Explorers Club, joined with past and present leaders of the club in the ringing of the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
For a link to the Opening Bell Ceremony, see:
Reflecting on this honor, L. M. Levie remarked, "It was both a privilege and pleasure to join with the leaders of the Explorers Club for the New York Stock Exchange Opening Bell ceremony. The Explorers Club has long promoted scientific achievement, exploration and the advancement of knowledge, all of which ultimately fosters capital creation.” Mr. Levie added, “The NYSE, as the largest and deepest equity market in the world, is the epicenter and pillar of global finance. It is therefore fitting and proper that the Explorers Club ring the Opening Bell of the NYSE.”
The NYSE extends the privilege of ringing its iconic opening bell to new public companies as well as to prominent non-profit organizations, in recognition of their impact and contributions to society. The Explorers Club is renowned for its 119 years supporting scientific expeditions, education, and conservation.
To commemorate the occasion, Mr. Levie composed the following poem, which he then presented to the officers of the Explorers Club and the New York Stock Exchange:
The Explorers’
Wild Trek on Wall Street
By L. M. Levie
At Wall and Broad where pillars rise
And towers tall fill up the skies,
The New York Stock Exchange, a stage
Where fortunes rise and dreams engage.
Where bulls and bears converge to trade
And plans for industry are laid,
A group assembles and awaits,
To ring the bell, unflood the gates,
Unfurl their flag, and start the day,
As traders cheer, then clap and bray:
“Explorers at the Stock Exchange?!”
But is it really quite so strange?
Explorers and investors share
A common passion, drive and care:
To search the land and seas and space,
And make our world a better place.
