VECCO, AN AIAC AFFILIATE, ACQUIRES KAMAN COMPOSITES WICHITA
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sterling Heights, MI – August 10, 2024 Vital Engineered Components Company, Inc. (VECCO), an affiliate of American Industrial Corporation (AIAC), acquired Kaman Composites Wichita (KCW), a division of Kaman Aerospace Group on August 9, 2024. VECCO, formed in 2022 and formerly a division of MB Aerospace Group (now Barnes Aerospace), shall rebrand Kaman Wichita as VECCO Wichita in the coming weeks. This acquisition strategically enhances VECCO's portfolio, adding KCW’s exceptional composite manufacturing capabilities to VECCO’s existing ultra-precision machining skills.
KCW is a specialized composite components supplier in the aerospace and defense industries, providing critical components to Boeing, Sikorsky, Raytheon Technologies, Spirit Aerospace, and Tata, among other blue chip customers. The acquisition by VECCO positions KCW to offer even greater value to its end-users through an expanded range of services. The Wichita facility is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and equipment, including multiple autoclaves, freezers, ovens, and paint booths.
"KCW has a strong history of providing composites, metal bond, compression mold, and vacuum form aerospace solutions to both defense and commercial industries. As newly VECCO Wichita, they are positioned for substantial growth, and we are absolutely thrilled to bring their strong capabilities into VECCO and support their future," said Robert Bell, CEO of VECCO.
AIAC Chairman L. M. Levie commented, “VECCO’s acquisition of Kaman Composites Wichita from Kaman Aerospace substantially enhances our product and service offering to our existing customers, while offering new customers, as well. We warmly welcome the employees, managers, customers, and suppliers of KCW to VECCO and to the AIAC Group.”
Further details about plans for VECCO Wichita will be announced in the coming weeks.
